Our story
Same corner
since 1967.
Milpitas Car Wash sits where a four-bay coin wash stood for most of a lifetime. The equipment changed. The address never did.
From the archive
The four
A-framed bays.
The wash that stood here before the rebuild — shingled A-frames, open bays, and the number 554 painted on the second arch.

Six decades
One lot.
Four chapters.
Nov 1964
Approved on a vacant lot
The Planning Commission approves a site plan to build a manual car wash on a then-vacant parcel of South Main Street.
1967
Four A-framed bays
The wash is constructed as four A-framed manual bays, the second and third joined beneath a single roof structure. The address on the bay reads 554.
The long run
Coin Wash Corp
For decades it runs as a self-service coin wash. Quarters, a hose, and a Saturday morning — the ritual passes down through generations of Milpitas drivers.
Today
Milpitas Car Wash
The bays give way to a full rebuild on the same corner: an automated express tunnel, unlimited monthly plans, and free vacuum stations.
What's here now
